A Vision Realized in Walkerton

In 2012, a bold vision became reality. Many wondered if a branded hotel could thrive in a small community like Walkerton, Ontario. It took the commitment of over 50 investors to bring this project to life, and it didn’t take long for all doubts to fade away.

The 52-room Best Western Plus Walkerton quickly became a favorite for a diverse range of guests:

• Corporate travelers seeking a home away from home Monday through Friday

• Families exploring the scenic shores of Lake Huron and Bruce Peninsula

• Individuals attending training programs and educational opportunities

• Visitors reconnecting with loved ones while enjoying their own space

It soon became clear the investors were on the right track.

Expanding the Dream

Just three years later, in 2015, the second phase of this vision came to life. A 3,300 sq. ft. conference center featuring a state-of-the-art kitchen for on-site and off-site catering. Designed without lodging above, it offers an elegant space for weddings, parties, and corporate events. With a dedicated event coordinator, professional Chef and catering staff, the venue quickly became a regional favorite.

 

Innovation Arrives: @HOME by Best Western

Fast-forward to June 2025: Passion, dedication, and vision brought another milestone to Walkerton. After extensive planning and construction, @HOME by Best Western opened its first-ever location - right here, in the heart of Bruce County. This innovative concept was designed to meet the growing demand for extended-stay, apartment-style accommodation, blending the comforts of home with the convenience of a hotel.

Forward-thinking investors and management recognized the need, and have exceeded expectations.
